Aston Villa v Bolton Wanderers
  • Bolton have only won one of their last 15 meetings with Aston Villa in the Premier League.
  • Ashley Young has scored in each of his last four Premier League appearances against Bolton.
  • Gabriel Agbonlahor has scored four goals in his last four Premier League appearances against Bolton.
  • Johan Elmander has scored on both of his Premier League visits to Villa Park.
  • Owen Coyle's side have failed to score in eight of their last 12 Premier League away matches.
  • The Villans have only lost one of their last 11 Premier League games at home.




Blackburn Rovers v Fulham
  • Clint Dempsey has scored three goals in his last three appearances against Blackburn.
  • Fulham have only won one of the last eight Premier League meetings against Blackburn.
  • Blackburn have only lost five of their 32 Premier League home games under Sam Allardyce.

Middlesbrough v Reading
  • Only three of the last 17 meetings between these sides have been won by the home team.
  • Reading have won just once in their last four trips to the Riverside stadium.
  • Boro have won their last two games at the Riverside, their only victories of the league season so far.
  • Reading have kept two consecutive clean sheets in the Championships.


Millwall v Watford
  • The home side have won only one of the last five meetings between Watford and Millwall, losing three times.
  • Watford are unbeaten in their last three trips to the New Den, winning and keeping a clean sheet twice.

Hibernian v Hamilton Academical
  • Hibs are unbeaten in their last seven matches at home to Hamilton, winning the last three.
  • Hamilton scored more goals against Hibs last season (seven) than against any other SPL side.
  • Simon Mensing scored three goals in three league appearances against Hibs last season.
  • Hibs are without a win in their last six league matches at Easter Road, losing five.
  • The Accies have won four of their last five games on the road in the SPL.
  • Hibs have won the fewest fouls this season in the SPL (36).




Inverness Caledonian Thistle v Hearts
  • Hearts have won their last six matches against Inverness.

  • Hearts have picked up just one win from their last six league games.
  • Inverness are on a run of three straight league defeats at home, each by a score of 1-0.

Rangers v Dundee United
  • Kenny Miller has scored in each of Rangers' four league games this season.

  • This is only the second time that both Rangers and Celtic have won all four of their opening SPL games (after 2000/01).

  • The last time St Johnstone picked up fewer than three points from their opening four games, they ended the season relegated (2001/02).
  • In their last two SPL campaigns (09/10 and 01/02), St Johnstone failed to win any of their opening six games.
  • St Johnstone have not won at home in six league matches since beating Rangers 4-1 in March.
  • St Mirren are without a win in 17 SPL matches on the road since a 1-0 win at Falkrik in October last year.




Kilmarnock v Celtic
  • Celtic have scored exactly three goals in six of their last eight meetings with Kilmarnock in all competitions.
  • The Bhoys have won 23 of their last 25 SPL matches against Killie.
  • Should Celtic beat Kilmarnock, it will equal the record for most wins by one club against another in the SPL (35: currently Celtic vs. Aberdeen and Rangers vs Kilmarnock).
  • The last two times that Kilmarnock won back-to-back SPL matches, they went on to win their third game.
  • The Hoops have won all 12 of their SPL games under Neil Lennon.

Atletico Madrid v Barcelona
  • Atletico and Barcelona have alternated wins in their last six league meetings - the Colchoneros had the better in the last one, at the Calderon last February (2-1).
  • That was Barcelona's last defeat away from home in La Liga; since then, Pep Guardiola's side have picked up six wins and two draws.
  • Atletico have beaten Barcelona on four of the last five occasions they have hosted the Blaugrana, and have had the better in the last three.
  • Barcelona have conceded 10 goals in their last three visits to Atletico in the league.
  • Atletico were the last La Liga side to score more than three goals against the Catalans (back in March 2009 at the Calderon).
  • Atletico have not shared the points at their ground in their last 16 league fixtures.


Deportivo La Coruña v Getafe
  • This will be the 13th meeting between these two sides in the top-flight: Deportivo lead by six wins to two, but Getafe had the better in the last meeting at the Riazor, last March.
  • Deportivo have netted exactly one goal on each of the last five occasions they hosted Getafe - enough for two wins and as many draws.
  • The Galicians have not scored in their last three league games: 2-0 defeat against Athletic last season, and the two goalless draws of this campaign against Zaragoza and Sevilla.
  • Deportivo have managed only one win from their last seven league games at the Riazor.
  • Getafe have won three of their last four games in La Liga between this and last season.


Espanyol v Almeria
  • Espanyol have had the better of Almeria in their last three top-flight meetings, with the Catalans not conceding a single goal.
  • Espanyol have conceded only four goals in their last 10 games at home in La Liga, and have finished seven of these with a clean sheet.
  • Almeria have won only one of their last 12 league games, losing six times and sharing the points five times (including the last two).
  • Away from home Almeria have drawn three of their last four league fixtures.


Hercules v Valencia
  • Valencia have won the last three meetings with Hercules in the top-flight - however, their last meeting was back in 1997.
  • In Alicante, Hercules have notched-up 11 wins and three draws against Valencia, prior to the 2-0 defeat in their last meeting in May 1997.
  • Hercules have alternated wins and defeats in their last six top-flight fixtures, leading to their astonishing win at the Camp Nou against Barcelona last Saturday.
  • Valencia have won six of their last seven La Liga games, losing the remaining one to Villarreal last May (2-0).


Levante v Villarreal
  • Levante have picked up only one point from their previous six top-flight meetings with Villarreal - a 1-1 draw in October 2010 at the Madrigal.
  • Villarreal have netted eight goals in three previous league games played against Levante away from home.
  • Levante have collected only one point from their last seven games played in the top-flight, and have lost the first two of this campaign by 4-1.
  • Villarreal are on a run of two defeats and a draw away from home between this season and last.
  • Levante have conceded the most goals in La Liga in the first 15 minutes of play (three) and in the last 15 minutes (three).


Malaga v Sevilla
  • This will be the 49th Andalucian derby between these two sides: the record of previous meetings is perfectly even, with each side winning 18 times.
  • However, Malaga have managed to win only one of their last six meetings with Sevilla, in October 2008.
  • Last Sunday's win over Real Zaragoza ended Malaga's run of 12 consecutive games without a victory in La Liga.
  • At home, Malaga are winless in their last six league games, in which they have never scored more than a single goal.
  • Sevilla have won their last three league games on the road, netting always three or more goals.
  • All six goals of Malaga's goals this season have come in the first half.


Mallorca v Osasuna
  • Last season Mallorca beat Osasuna in both legs, without conceding a single goal.
  • At the ONO Estadi, the hosts have notched-up three wins and a draw in their last four meetings with Osasuna.
  • Neither Mallorca nor Osasuna have scored a goal in this campaign.
  • Osasuna will visit the ONO Estadi on a run of nine consecutive defeats away from home in La Liga.

Racing Santander v Real Zaragoza

Real Sociedad v Real Madrid
  • Real Sociedad have managed to win only two points from their last six games against Real Madrid in La Liga.
  • Real Madrid are alongside Deportivo as the only side yet to concede a goal after the first two match-days of La Liga.
  • The Merengues are unbeaten in their last nine league games (seven wins and two draws).
  • Away from home, Real are unbeaten in their last 11 games, but after nine consecutive wins they were held to a draw in the last two.
  • Real Madrid have attempted the most shots this season (35, excl. blocked); however, they've managed to score only one goal.


Sporting Gijon v Athletic Bilbao
  • Sporting have managed only one win from their last 17 league games against Athletic - five draws and 11 wins to the Basques complete the record.
  • Sporting's last win at home against Athletic was back in 1991; since then they have picked up only three points in eight games at home when they hosted Athletic.
  • Last Sunday's win over Mallorca ended Sporting's 11-game winless streak (six defeats and five draws).
  • Prior to their win against Hercules on match-day 1 (1-0), Athletic had not won in 12 consecutive away games (eight defeats and four draws).
  • Only Cristiano Ronaldo (15) has attempted more shots than Athletic's Fernando Llorente (10) this season in La Liga.

18.19. 09. 2010. Italy - Serie A preview

Bari v Cagliari
  • The record of previous meetings between these two sides in Serie A is perfectly even: five wins each and six draws; Bari have scored 21 goals, the Sardinians 20.
  • However, Cagliari won both fixtures last season, 1-0 at the San Nicola and 3-1 in Sardinia.
  • Cagliari's win at Bari last season ended the hosts' unbeaten run at home against the Sardinians, after four wins and three draws.
  • Bari have conceded only three goals on the eight occasions they have hosted Cagliari at home in the top-flight.
  • Giampiero Ventura's side are unbeaten in their last five Serie A games (three wins and two draws between this season and last).
  • At home, Bari have notched-up three consecutive wins in the league, without conceding a single goal.
  • Last Saturday's 5-1 win over Roma ended Cagliari's 15-game win drought in the league.
  • Cagliari's last away win in Serie A was last January (1-0 at Bologna); since then, they have collected only four points from the ensuing 11 fixtures on the road.



Cesena v Lecce
  • This will be the seventh meeting between these two sides in the top-flight: Cesena lead by three wins to two, with one draw.
  • At home, Cesena have a 100% record in their three meetings with Lecce, and have always scored three or more goals in each of these fixtures.
  • Newly promoted Lecce and Cesena ended last season's Serie B campaign top and second in the table respectively, earning direct promotion to top-flight.
  • Cesena won both fixtures last season in Serie B: 3-1 at the Manuzzi, 2-1 away in Puglia.
  • Last Saturday against AC Milan, Cesena managed their first Serie A win since 1991; on that occasion, Cesena beat Lecce (3-1).

Chievo v Brescia
  • Chievo and Brescia have met eight times so far in the top-flight: each side has won twice with four draws completing the record.
  • Chievo have had the better on the last two occasions they have hosted Brescia, by the same scoreline (3-1).
  • Chievo currently top the Serie A table after two wins against Catania (2-1) and away to Genoa (3-1).

  • However, Roma are unbeaten in their last five Serie A meetings with Bologna, and have won the last three.
  • Bologna have managed only one win from their last 16 visits to Roma, with the hosts having the better 10 times and five draws completing the record.
  • Prior to last Saturday's defeat against Cagliari (5-1), Totti & co. last conceded five goals in Serie A in May 1999 (Roma v Inter 4-5).

Sampdoria v Napoli
  • Sampdoria and Napoli have met 102 times in Serie A so far: the Blucerchiati lead by 33 wins to 30, with 39 draws.
  • Napoli have managed only one win from their last 13 visits to Sampdoria at the Marassi - seven wins to the hosts and five draws.

  • Udinese are on a run of three consecutive defeats in Serie A between this season and last.
  • Juventus have picked up only one point from their last seven games on the road, and failed to score in five of these games.
  • This is Juventus' worst start to a Serie A season since 1962/63 (one point gained from the first two games).

17.-19. 09. 2010. Germany - Bundesliga preview

Frankfurt v Freiburg
  • There have been no draws in 16 Bundesliga games between these clubs: Frankfurt have won nine matches, Freiburg seven.
  • Eintracht have won all of their last five home games against Freiburg; the last time that Freiburg won at Frankfurt was over 14 years ago; in March 1996, when Eintracht lost 0-1 at Waldstadion.
  • Only once before in Freiburg's Bundesliga history have the club managed to win six points in their first three games - the 1994/95 campaign, which ended with them finishing in third place.
  • After seven league games without a win (including the last season), Frankfurt just defeated Gladbach 4-0. It was Eintracht's biggest away win in 16 years (March 1994).

Bayern Munich v Köln

Bremen v Mainz
