Sir Alex Ferguson is likely to make wholesale changes to his side, with youngsters Ravel Morrison and Paul Pogba likely to be given an opportunity to shine.
DID YOU KNOW?

  • League Two side Aldershot beat West Ham, Carlisle and Rochdale to reach the fourth round.
  • Strike partnership Danny Hylton and Michael Rankine have been Aldershot's cup heroes this season with two goals apiece.
  • Goals can be expected as Dean Holdsworth's men have not been involved in a goalless draw all season.
  • The Shots have struggled at home this season, winning just once in the League and being beaten four times at the Recreation Ground.
  • Manchester United come into the game on the back of their biggest home defeat since 1955 after losing 6-1 to Manchester City.
  • United beat Leeds United 3-0 in their only League Cup tie this season thanks to a brace from Michael Owen (pictured right) and a Ryan Giggs strike.
  • United's last match against opposition from England's fourth tier was a League Cup tie against Barnet in 2005, which resulted in a 4-1 win with Giuseppe Rossi and Sylvain Ebanks-Blake among the scorers.

Arsene Wenger’s defensive injury woes have been compounded by the knee strain sustained by Carl Jenkinson in the 1-0 Champions League victory over Marseille last Wednesday, meaning Sebastien Squillaci may return to the Gunners’ starting XI. Elsewhere expect Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Yossi Benayoun to feature having both been on target in the third round victory over Shrewsbury Town.
Adam Bogdan may be recalled in goal by Owen Coyle for the first time since his horror show in the 5-1 defeat to Chelsea, whilst Fabrice Muamba may also feature in the centre of midfield if Nigel Reo-Coker is rested.
Expect Gael Kakuta, currently on loan from Chelsea, to feature up front after his goalscoring display against Aston Villa in the previous round, and Ivan Klasnic could partner him at the Emirates.
DID YOU KNOW?

  • The last time these two sides met was back in September at the Emirates in the Premier League, when Alex Song’s late strike followed a Robin van Persie double to secure a 3-0 victory for the Gunners.
  • That result was Bolton’s fifth defeat in a row in the Premier League, with Owen Coyle’s side having now lost seven of their first nine games this campaign following Saturday’s 2-0 home defeat to Sunderland.
  • Victories against Macclesfield and Aston Villa in the League Cup have provided the Trotters with a brief respite from their top flight form, meaning they have already progressed further than last season’s third round showing in the competition.
  • Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (right), Yossi Benayoun and Kieran Gibbs all opened their Arsenal accounts in the 3-1 victory over Shrewsbury Town in last month’s third round clash.
  • Arsene Wenger’s side have now won three games on the bounce, with Premier League victories over Sunderland and Stoke City coming either side of Wednesday’s Champions League win over Marseille.

Granada defender David Cortes has returned to training after recovering from a knee injury but is still a week or two away from returning to first team action.

Hassan Yebda is fighting for fitness after suffering a muscle strain and it is touch and go whether the Algerian will make the game against the Catalan side. Carlos Martins will also be out for three weeks with sustaining a similar muscle problem.

Alexis Sanchez remains absent for Barcelona with a long-term hamstring injury. Gerard Pique will also miss another week after also suffering a hamstring complaint against Racing a week ago, and Ibrahim Afellay is still recovering from knee surgery and will be an absentee for the foreseeable future.

DID YOU KNOW?
  • Granada have only scored two goals in La Liga this season, 24 less than Barcelona.
  • Uche and Fran Rico are Granada's joint top goalscorers, with a goal a piece. Barcelona have four players who have scored more; Lionel Messi, Xavi, David Villa, and Cesc Fabregas.
  • Granada have notched up five points in La Liga so far, with a win, two draws, and five defeats.
  • Barcelona's 0-0 draw with Sevilla on Saturday was the first occasion at home in La Liga this season when they have failed to take away all three points.
  • Victor Valdes achieved a personal record on Saturday. He has now went 607 minutes and counting without conceding a goal in the league.
  • Barcelona can make themselves preliminary leaders of La Liga with a victory over Granada in this game.

Prediction
Granada have only managed to score two La Liga goals in eight games, and considering they will see a minority of possession against Barcelona, it is unlikely that they will be able to grab a goal in the match. Combine this with the attacking talent that Barca has, and you cant see past a very comfortable victory for the Catalan side. Pep Guardiola's side may be hurting slightly after their home draw against Sevilla at the weekend, so they will be smelling blood against the promoted side in this match.
Editor's Prediction
Granada 0-3 Barcelona
