Chievo are floating comfortably in Serie A and are gradually becoming an also-ran - a luxury in one of the most competitive domestic leagues in Europe in which half of the 20 teams tend to fight against the drop while the rest 10 battle for places in Europe.
Last weekend Ceo didn't feature in any league match as their encounter with Bologna was postponed because of bad weather conditions. Results elsewhere mean that after 14 rounds of matches in Serie A, the Flying Donkeys are tenth in the league standings with 19 points but with a game in hand.
In midweek Stefano Pioli's side secured their place in the fifth round of the Coppa Italia with a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Novara. The Verona-based club are unbeaten in their last four competitive fixtures and defeated Italian and European champions Inter 2-1 in their last Serie A match.
Recovering From Weekend Defeat
Roma's eight-game unbeaten run in all competitions came to an end last weekend when they went down 3-1 to Palermo in Sicily. The victory forced Claudio Ranieri's side outside the top six as the Lupi are currently stationed in seventh place with 22 points from 14 games.
While Roma's recent resurgence had increased the pitch of the whispers about a Scudetto challenge, their loss to the Rosanero subdued them again. League leaders Milan are eight points ahead of them and the Giallorossi do have a lot of ground to cover.
Roma's woes are augmented by their poor away record. The former Italian champions have registered just a single victory on the road in the league campaign and have conceded a whooping 13 goals in seven matches.

Chievo are flying high and will make life extremely tough for the visiting Roma. Having defeated mighty Inter last month, the Flying Donkeys will be confident of inflicting a defeat on Ranieri's team but they are most likely to manage a draw.
