Guinea saw their high spirits deflated when they lost 4-1 to Senegal during the weekend’s friendly international on the outskirts of Paris.
The Syli Nationale, who will be challenging for the title at next year’s Africa Cup of Nations, stopped Nigeria from qualifying for the tournament by topping their group.
But Michel Dussuyer’s men were overpowered by the Teranga Lions, showing that there is need for more work if they are to make an impact at the Afcon.
Burkina Faso come into this game on the back of a 1-1 draw with Mali at the weekend. The Stallions came from behind in that game to deny the Eagles a slim victory.
Now Paulo Duarte’s men will hope that they can continue a good run against the Guineans in the southern Parisian town of Viry-Chatillon.
The Stallions are not short on confidence after topping their Afcon qualifying group to ensure that they will play in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea in January.
DID YOU KNOW?

  • The Guineans, who are currently ranked 75th by Fifa, can boast that their best showing at the Afcon isreaching the quarter-finals, which they have done on three occasions.
  • Burkina Faso, who are ranked 54 on the Fifa list, placed fourth in the Afcon when they hosted the tournament in 1998.
  • Guinea’s minister of sport is former star footballer and fan favourite, Abdoulaye Titi Camara.
  • Namibia are protesting to Caf concerning Burkina Faso’s use of Cameroon-born player Herve Zengue during the qualification process, and they are set to appeal the governing body's decision to dismiss the case, threating to take the matter to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas).
Prediction
This is expected to be a tight game between both teams as they prepare for the Afcon, and the two trainers are expected to use their best players for the encounter.
