Spurs hoping to end Reebok hoodoo

Bolton have an impressive record against Spurs at the Reebok and they are currently unbeaten in their last 10 matches against them in the Premier League. In these 10 matches Bolton have scored more than double the number of goals their visitors have, restricting them to just eight goals whilst they have scored 17 themselves.

A victory for the home side would see them equal on points with the their opponents and lift them up from 11th place and into the top half of the table. A victory for Spurs would see them move into fourth place in the table and put pressure on Manchester City, who have now lost their last three games in all competitions.

Coyle aiming for first league win over Spurs

The match will see Owen Coyle come up against Tottenham in the league for the second time in his managerial career and he will be hoping it goes much better than the first encounter, which his Burnley side lost 5-0 in 2009.

However, he did have some success in the League Cup against Spurs in the 2008-09 season. The Clarets recovered from a 4-1 first leg defeat to Harry Redknapp's men in the semi-final to storm into a 3-0 lead at Turf Moor. But two late goals in extra time from Roman Pavlyuchenko and Jermain Defoe broke Burnley hearts.

Harry Redknapp’s record against Bolton is fairly good, he was won seven out of 17 games against the Trotters, and he will be hoping that he can notch up a third victory over Bolton as Spurs manager.

TEAM NEWS

Bolton Wanderers

Bolton will be without key man Martin Petrov who is still suffering with the hamstring injury that kept him out of the Liverpool match, so Matt Taylor is expected to continue in place of the Bulgarian on the left wing.

Coyle will also be without Ricardo Gardner (thigh), Jlloyd Samuel (calf), Sean Davis and Joey O’Brien (both knee).

Possible starting line-up: Jaaskelainen; Steinsson, Cahill, Knight, Robinson; Lee, Holden, Muamba, Taylor; Elmander, K Davies.

Tottenham

One of the stars of the Inter victory in midweek, and the season so far, has been Gareth Bale, and Redknapp will look to his left winger to inspire Spurs to victory on a ground where they have not had a lot of luck in recent seasons.

However, they could be without another of their influential players, Rafael van der Vaart, who was substituted at half-time against Inter with a recurrence of a persistent hamstring injury.

Goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes should return after being suspended for the match against Inter but after such exertions in midweek Redknapp may also be tempted to rest some of his players. Spurs will definitely be without Croatian defender Vedran Corluka (hamstring), Jermain Defoe (ankle), Michael Dawson (knee), Jamie O’Hara (back) and Jonathan Woodgate (groin).

Possible starting XI: Gomes; Hutton, Gallas, Bassong, Assou-Ekotto; Lennon, Jenas, Palacios, Bale; Crouch, Pavlyuchenko.
