 U revanš meču polufinala Lige Evrope Liverpul na Enfildu dočekuje madridski Atletiko , nijedan od današnjih rivala ne blista u svom prvenstvu Liverpul je na 7. mestu na +5 u odrnosu na Everton i gotovo je osigurao izlazak u Evropu i neredne godine ali su na -2 od LŠ i imaju utakmicu više od Totenhema a Atletiko je na 10. mestu na -9 od Evrope ali igraju finale kupa sa Seviljom .
 U predhodne dve sezone su se tri puta medjusobno sastajali prošle sezone dva remija sa po 1-1 i prvi meč polufinalne runde koju je dobio Atletiko 1-0 .
 Liverpul je posle poraza od Atletika u prvenstvu "razbio" Barnli 4-0 u gostima i napravio dobru uvertiru u ovaj meč .
Crveni imaju dva poraza u zadnjih 8 meča u svim takmičenjima i to upravu u takmičenju čiji meč sledi i to 1-2 od Benfike i 0-1 od Atletika a oba meča su igrali u gostima i skor u ovom periodu 4-2-2 16:5 .
Na domaćem terenu nisu poraženi na poslednjih 14 meča u svim takmičenjima u kojima imaju skor 12-2-0 30:5 i u ovom periodu su na 10 meča postizali dva ili više gola a na 9 meča su uspeli da sačuvaju svoju mrežu medju kojima i dva meča LE sa Unireom 3-0 i Lilom 1-0. 
Liverpul protiv vodećih timova Premiera kao domaćin ima skor 2-2-1 8:7 a obe pobede su bez primljenog gola 2-0 Totenhem i Mančester Junajted a dva gola im je bilo potrebno za remi 2-2 sa Mančester Sitijem dok su gubili kad bi postigli manje od dva gola 1-2 Arsenal i 1-3 Aston Vila .
Ovaj susret propustaju Insua i Maxi Rodrigez a najverovatnije za sastav neće konkurisati ni Fernando Torres .

Atletiko je za vikend dobio Tenerife 3-1 i to mu je druga pobeda u nizu (Liverpul 1-0) posle očajnih igara u prvenstvu kada su vezali tri poraza .
Atletiko je u gostima na zadnjih 7 meča bez pobede u svim takmičenjima i imaju skor 0-3-4 9:17 ali su u ovom periodu zabeležili dva značajna remija u LE 2-2 sa Sportingom i Valensijom kojima su prolazili u narednu fazu nokaut takmičenja  . 
Oni na gostovanjima igraju mečeve sa dosta golova zadnih 7/8 su otišli u 3+ a u poslednjih 8 je bilo makar po dva gola , u ovom periodu su na 7 meča postizali makar po gol ali s druge strane su na 6 primili dva ili više gola i to na zadnjih 6 .
Atletiko je u prvenstvu na gostovanjima sa timovima od 1. do 13. mesta u 11 meča ima skor 0-1-10 9:27 a čak 6 gola su postigli protiv vodeće trojke 2-5 Barselona , 2-3 Real , 2-2 Valensija .
Kod Španaca se, posle suspenzije  u sastav vraća Kun Aguero .

Liverpul sa i bez Fernando Torres-a  nije ista ekipa što se pokazalo već mnogo puta u ovoj sezoni , i ne uliva mi baš neko poverenje a kvota na jedinicu je i suviše mizerna 1.6 da bi se rizikovalo na nju . Nosim se mišlju da će ovo pre svega biti tvrd meč i da će gol bilo koje od ekipa značiti prolaz u narednu fazu , Liverpul bez sumnje bez Torresa ne može postići tri gola tako da ukoliko primi gol to bi za njih bio kraj a ukoliko oni ipak prvi daju gol neće se libiti i da udju u produžetak i tako ostvare cilj pa će moja opklada biti manje od tri gola .
