The Royal Blues have gone 383 without conceding against the Berlin-based side. Hertha have only netted one goal in their last seven league games against Schalke.
Only against Eintracht Frankfurt have Schalke kept as many clean sheets in the Bundesliga as they have against Hertha (24).

FC Augsburg - Borussia Mönchengladbach

Both sides have played two competitive matches against each other so far. In 2007/08 Augsburg and Gladbach met twice in Bundesliga.2, with Gladbach winning both meetings (4-2 H, 2-0 A).
Augsburg have scored their last eight league goals after the half-time break.
The Foals are unbeaten in five games, picking up 13 out of the possible 15 points - more than any other Bundesliga team has taken from their last five games.
Borussia are yet to concede more than two goals in a Bundesliga game since Lucien Favre took over the helm in February. Under the tenure of the Swiss manager, the Foals have only shipped 19 goals in 27 league games so far.
Gladbach have only conceded 10 goals this term - fewer than the Foals have ever shipped 15 games into a Bundesliga season.
Borussia striker Mike Hanke's three goals in the Foals' last two games ended a seven month-long goal drought for the former German international.
Juan Arango has provided more assists (seven) and created more chances (46) than any other Bundesliga player this term.
Lucien Favre has the best points-per-game average (1.85) of all Gladbach managers in the history of the Bundesliga (only managers with at least two Bundesliga games in charge of the Foals are taken into account).
Gladbach goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen has saved a league-high 81% of the shots that he has faced this campaign. Additionally, the young shot-stopper has kept nine clean sheets so far in his 21 Bundesliga appearances.
Current FCA players Marcel Ndjeng, Nando Rafael and Jan-Ingwer Callsen-Bracker have all had stints with Gladbach.

Wolfsburg have enjoyed more away wins over Werder than against any other team in the German top flight.
Mario Mandzukic netted his eighth goal of the season last weekend against Mainz. The Croatian striker has now already scored as many goals this term as he netted in the whole of last season.

1. FC Köln - SC Freiburg

With their 1-0 win over Freiburg in February, Köln ended a run of eight winless games against Freiburg in all competitions (five defeats, three draws).

Only at Mainz (0.33) have Freiburg on average netted fewer goals per game on average in the Bundesliga than at Köln (0.44)
The Billygoats are without a win in three league games for the first time since the start of the season (one draw, two defeats).
Freiburg, on the other hand, are unbeaten in four Bundesliga games despite going 1-0 down in each of these games (one win, three draws). The last time SCF remained unbeaten for that long was between December 2010 and February 2011 (seven games).
Having already conceded 31 goals each this season, Köln and Freiburg have the joint-worst defensive record in the Bundesliga.
Only Wolfsburg (49) have faced more 'clear-cut chances' than Freiburg and Köln (44 each).

1. FSV Mainz 05 - Hamburger SV

Mainz celebrated their first ever win in the Bundesliga when they defeated Hamburg 2-1 at home in August 2004.
Since that victory, Mainz have not won any of their four Bundesliga home games against HSV (two draws, two defeats).
None of the last six Bundesliga matches between these two teams has seen the home side prevail. The last three meetings all ended in wins for the away team.
Although Mainz have won their last two Bundesliga games at Coface Arena, they have still suffered more defeats (five) and conceded more goals (17) on home turf than any other side in the Bundesliga this campaign.
Hamburg are unbeaten in the six Bundesliga games since Thorsten Fink took charge of the Redshorts (two wins, four draws). Only reigning champions Dortmund have currently gone longer without defeat in the Bundesliga.
Only Juan Arango (seven) has assisted more goals than Hamburg's Gökhan Töre (six). No other HSV player has provided more than one assist this campaign.

Marcell Jansen has scored in three of Hamburg's last four Bundesliga games, while striker Paolo Guerrero found the back of the net on three of his last five league appearances.
Hamburg have netted three of their last four league goals between the 62nd and the 65th minute.
After going nine games without a win (three draws, six defeats) Mainz have taken seven points from their last three league games.

1. FC Nürnberg - TSG 1899 Hoffenheim

Nürnberg have won none and lost two of their four previous Bundesliga games against Hoffenheim.
1899 have also won the only cup meeting between these two sides, when they beat Nürnberg 1-0 away in the second round of the DFB Pokal in 2009/10.
Nürnberg (five) and Hoffenheim (six) are the two teams who have picked up the fewest points from their last nine Bundsliga games.
1899 have registered a league-low four goals in their last nine Bundesliga games.

Hannover, on the other hand, are without a win in five Bundesliga games - something that last happened in Spring 2010.
The Reds have only kept one clean sheet this term - a joint league-low. Mirko Slomka's men have now gone eight games without shutting their opponents out - currently the longest run of its kind in the Bundesliga.
Only Bayern have scored more goals from dead-ball situations than Leverkusen (11, like Stuttgart). No team has conceded fewer goals following set-pieces than Leverkusen, though (three, like Bayern and Kaiserslautern).
Eren Derdiyok has scored four of Leverkusen's last five Bundesliga goals. With six goals to his name he is currently Bayer's top scorer.
Both managers have woeful records against their upcoming opponents: Robin Dutt has lost all his four Bundesliga duels with Hannover, while Mirko Slomka has only won the first of his eight Bundesliga games against Leverkusen (two draws, five defeats).

Borussia Dortmund - 1. FC Kaiserslautern

When Lautern last played at Dortmund the Red Devils were on the wrong end of a 5-0 drubbing. It was Lautern's heaviest defeat in the whole of 2010/11.
The last time Lautern won at Dortmund was in October 2000 when the Red Devils enjoyed a 2-1 win over BVB. Since that win, FCK have lost five and drawn one of their six Bundesliga outings at Dortmund.
Borussia are set to score their 100th home goal against Lautern in the Bundesliga (currently 99) - against no other team have Borussia netted this many home goals in the German top flight.
Dortmund top scorer Robert Lewandowski (10 goals) has only netted one goal fewer than all FCK players combined this term (11). The only FCK goal in the Red Devils last three games was scored by an opposition player - Hertha's Hubnik found the back of his own net.
Dortmund have only conceded four goals in their last nine league games, keeping five clean sheets in the process.
Borussia have only lost one of their last 23 Bundesliga games on home soil (18 wins, four draws).
No team had held the lead in more games than Dortmund (11, alongside Schalke and Gladbach). Jürgen Klopp's men have only lost one of the 11 games in which they were in front (nine wins, one draw).
Lautern have only led in six games this season - a joint league-low (together with Augsburg and Freiburg) - and have only won three of these games (three wins, three draws).
Lautern have failed to score more than one goal in any of their last six league games.
Despite only conceding 19 goals, FCK goal-keeper Kevin Trapp has only kept one clean sheet - a joint league-low.

VfB Stuttgart - FC Bayern München

Only against Hamburg (54) have Bayern enjoyed more victories than against Stuttgart (51).
VfB have only won one of the last nine competitive matches against Bayern (two draws, six defeats).
The last time Bayern had scored as many goals after 15 games of a Bundesliga season - as they have this term (38) - was in 1987/88.
Stuttgart have won only one of their last six league games (three draws, two defeats), failing to keep a single clean sheet in the process. The only team the Swabians beat during that span were bottom-placed Augsburg (2-1).
Bayern have only enjoyed one win in their last four Bundesliga games on the road (one draw, two defeats).
The German record champions still have scored the most (38) and conceded the fewest goals (nine) in the Bundesliga this term.
Bruno Labbadia is set to oversee his 100th BL game as a manager and could pick up his 150th point in his managerial career (currently 149).
Since 1997, Labbadia has faced Bayern 10 times in the Bundesliga as player and manager and only managed to win one of these encounters (nine defeats).
None of the Swabians last 71 league games ended in a goalless draw - currently the longest run of its kind in the Bundesliga.
With 13 goals to his name, Mario Gomez still leads the BL scoring charts (together with Schalke's Huntelaar), but hasn't scored in the Bundesliga in over five hours (344 minutes)

Liga coach Edgardo Bauza is preparing a attacking line-up to take advantage of the side's home leg, as Quito have a formidable record as hosts in the altitude of the Ecuadorian capital. Argentine star Ezequiel Gonzalez will be the Blancos' principal playmaker, linking up with compatriots Hernan Barcos and Claudio Bieler up front to try and build up a lead in anticipation of their visit to Santiago.

Universidad are also planning to go for the win in Quito, playing three at the back in an offensive line-up. Chelsea target Eduardo Vargas starts alongside former River striker Gustavo Canales in attack, and the U's big-guns return to action after being rested at the weekend for the Clausura quarter-final win over Union Espanola.

DID YOU KNOW?

  • This will be Liga de Quito's fifth continental final in the last four years. The Ecuadorians lifted the 2008 Copa Libertadores and 2009 Sudamericana, also triumphing in the 2009 and 2010 Recopa competition.
  • Universidad de Chile, meanwhile, play their first-ever final. The club have made the last four stage four times and fallen short, the last attempt being the 2010 Libertadores when they were downed by Chivas.
  • Both clubs are directed by an Argentine. Edgardo Bauza (right) and Jorge Sampaoli hail from the same province, Santa Fe; the birthplace of coaches such as Marcelo Bielsa, Gerardo Martino and Claudio Vivas.
  • There will be a certain rivalry between the pair, however. Bauza played over 300 games for Rosario giants Central; while Sampaoli grew up in the youth system of rivals Newell's Old Boys before injury forced him into coaching.
  • The two clubs also both owe their existence to University teams. Universidad de Chile's academic origins are reflected in their badge and their nickname, which is an owl (in Spanish, Lechuza).
  • The two clubs have proved the bane of Argentine and Brazilian outfits in the competition. Liga overcame Independiente and Velez Sarsfield on the way to the final, while Universidad took down Flamengo, Arsenal de Sarandi and Vasco.
