03-10-2010 Lazio - Brescia

Eagles Soaring High

Lazio’s struggles of last season appear to have been buried in the sand as under Edy Reja the Aquile are soaring new heights. Last weekend Lazio defeated Chievo in Verona 1-0 to go joint-top of the table in Serie A.

At the moment Lazio have 10 points from five matches and with Inter taking on Juventus in Italy’s biggest game of the weekend, they will know that a win could take them clear ahead.

However, Reja has asked the team to keep their feet firmly on the ground and not get ahead of themselves, warning, "We need to be very careful against our next opponents [Brescia], as [coach Giuseppe] Iachini's side has the quality to beat anyone on their day. They will have extra motivation as they are taking on a side at the top of the ladder.”

Carrying On With Style

Newly promoted Brescia are in great form at the moment and even though their unbeaten run was punctuated by Bari away from home last weekend, the Biancoazzurri cannot be denied of their place under the sun.

Giuseppe Iachini's side are currently as high as fourth in the league table with nine points from five matches and are just a point off the top spot. A win against Lazio in Rome could see them sensationally go top.

However, Brescia’s away record in the league this season is less than impressive as they went down to Parma before winning against Chievo in Verona and lost to Bari last weekend.
