27.03. (Sun) 15:00 DR Congo - Mauritius

When they were paired in the same group as giants Cameroon and Senegal, DR Congo probably thought they would make a great showing to qualify for next year’s competition to be hosted by their neighbours Gabon and Equatorial Guinea. Two matches later and a single point, the Leopards are not looking good enough to make a sixteenth appearance at the continental showpiece.

In this game against whipping boys Mauritius, the Congolese will hope to bring back their chase on a good footing but in fighting between their coaches may just stall any hope of progress that they hope to make.

Mauritius have only ever qualified for the AFCON once in their history in 1974. That long run of failed attempts will definitely continue this year after they lost both of their opening matches to Cameroon and Senegal. They have conceded ten goals and go to Kinshasa knowing that another loss will put paid to their hopes, not that they really had any.

Prediction

This should be an easy one for the Leopards in front of their home fans but they would be making a grave mistake if they think that Team M will not give them a good fight.
