PROBABLE LINE-UPS

Sevilla (4-4-2): Javi Varas; Caceres, Spahic, Escude, Navarro; Jesus Navas, Medel, Trochowski, Perotti; Kanoute, Negredo

The home team will likely call upon the attacking duo of Alvaro Negredo and Frederic Kanoute to lead the frontline against Unai Emery's defence, one that caused a lot of problems for Barcelona midweek.

Valencia (4-2-3-1): Guaita; Bruno, Ruiz, Rami, Mathieu; Banega, Tino Costa; Canales, Piatti, Pablo; Soldado

Captain David Albelda will miss the clash with a back problem after being injured against Barca in the midweek draw. In his place, Argentine Tino Costa is expected to slot into midfield with Sergio Canales getting another shot to prove himself in the starting XI.

DID YOU KNOW?

  • Sevilla sit in fifth place in the league with eight points after four rounds having won both their home games and drawn both away.
  • In midweek, the Andalucians laboured to a 0-0 draw with Osasuna.
  • The home side beat Unai Emery's men twice last season, winning 2-0 and 1-0.
  • Valencia are in second place in the league with 10 points, two behind leaders Real Betis.
  • Roberto Soldado is tied at the top of the Pichichi table with five goals, joined by Atletico Madrid's Radamel Falcao and Barca's Lionel Messi.
  • Including the last four games of last season, Valencia have not tasted defeat in nine contests.
Prediction
Both teams have attacking players who can change the final outcome if given a chance, but neither have shown a strong ability to convert on goalscoring opportunities. A draw seems deserving for both clubs, although Valencia have been in fine form in recent weeks.
