Bordeaux boss Francis Gillot will be without Henrique, who returned to Brazil this week after the Brazilian was hit with a four-match suspension following an altercation in the Coupe de France game against Saint-Etienne month.
Also missing for Les Girondins is Lamine Sane who is unvailable through injury. Forward Cheick Diabate returns after guiding Mali to third place at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations, though Sunday's encounter may come too early for the young striker.
The hosts are set to continue with their formation of three centre-backs and two full-backs in the form of Mariano and Benoit Tremoulinas, which was used to great effect in the scintillating 5-4 win over champions Lille last week.
Remi Garde has no major injury concerns ahead of the trip to Stade Chaban-Delmas with the only worry being Yoann Gourcuff, who picked up an adductor injury, although the midfielder may be fit to face his former club, subject to a late fitness test.
Dejan Lovren continues to be sidelined with an Achilles tendon injury, whilst John Mensah will not be risked upon his return from Gabon and Equatorial Guinea. Alexandre Lacazette may also start in place of Jimmy Briand after the former starred in the midweek 1-0 win over APOEL in the Champions League.
DID YOU KNOW?

  • Bordeaux have scored more goals in Ligue 1 since the turn of the year than any other team. Francis Gillot's men have notched nine, two better than Lyon.
  • Les Girondins are also unbeaten in their last 11 games at home in Ligue 1.
  • In the last five home games, only one goal has been conceded.
  • Ludovic Obraniak has scored three goals in three league games for the hosts since his move from Lille.
  • Olympique Lyonnais have lost eight games in Ligue 1, their highest total at this stage for 14 years.
  • Les Gones have only won three of their last seven away games.
  • In their last five trips to the Stade Chaban-Delmas, Lyon are winless.
  • However, the two sides met each other in the Coupe de France two weeks ago, with Remi Garde's side prevailing 3-1 after extra time.
Prediction
Both sides head into this match on an equal footing and it is hard to predict anything other than a draw. Though Lyon are in desperate need for three points, a share of the points on Sunday looks the most likeliest option.
