Bundesliga Opta Facts: Matchday 19


Borussia Dortmund v 1. FC Nürnberg
Dortmund haven't lost any of their last eight meetings with Nürnberg (W6 D2).
Nürnberg's last victory over Dortmund came in November 2007 (2-0). It has been their only win in their last 25 meetings (L15 D9).
Nürnberg's last away victory at Dortmund (2-0) came in November 1990; none of their last 13 away matches at Dortmund have resulted in victory (L10 D3). Nürnberg haven't scored at Dortmund a goal in 511 minutes (8.5 hours) with their last goal there coming from Marek Nikl in April 2006.
Dortmund have lost only one of their last 16 competitive matches (W11 D4) - 2-3 vs. Wolfsburg (MD 16).
However, Dortmund have won only five points from their last five BL home game and have never gained fewer points in five consecutive BL home games under coach Jürgen Klopp.
Nürnberg haven't won any of their last seven away matches - the team have won two of 21 points in this period (L5 D2).
Dortmund have scored at least once in all but one of their last 27 BL matches -a 0-0 draw at home to Stuttgart on MD 10.
Dortmund have scored 10 goals in their last two competitive matches (5-1 vs. Hannover in the German Cup; 5-0 at Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga).

Nürnberg's Michael Wiesinger makes his away debut as a BL coach. As an active player, he won one of eight BL meetings with Dortmund (April 2000, a 1-0 away victory with Bayern).

Borussia Mönchengladbach v Fortuna Düsseldorf
Their meeting in the first half of the season was the first in more than 15 years. It resulted in a scoreless draw - for the first time in the history of this meeting which spans to 45 BL games.
These teams met in October in the German Cup when Düsseldorf won 1-0 in extra time.
Mönchengladbach have lost only one of their last 18 BL home games vs. Düsseldorf (W14 D3) - 0-2 in November 1984. It was the only time that Mönchengladbach failed to score in a home game vs. Düsseldorf.
Mönchengladbach have lost two of their last eight home games. Before that, they had lost only two of the 23 BL home games under coach Lucien Favre.
Mönchengladbach haven't lost any of their last eight competitive games (W4 D4). Their last defeat came on November 17th, when they lost 1-2 at home vs. Stuttgart. Only Bayern München have currently gone longer without defeat in the league (nine games) than Mönchengladbach (six games).
Düsseldorf haven't won any of their last five away matches, gaining only one point from a possible 15.
Düsseldorf won seven of their eight away points during their first three games on the road this season.
Mönchengladbach have won their last two BL home games with 2-0, Düsseldorf have lost their last two away games by scorelines of 2-0 (BL and German Cup).
Mönchengladbach have amounted 174 shots this season, Düsseldorf 153 - the two lowest figures in the German top flight. Bayern München alone have managed as many shots (327) as both teams combined.
Mönchenlgadbach keeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen saved only 61% of shots during the first 13 matches of this season. During the last five games, he has saved 92% - more than any other BL keeper during this period (considering only those keepers to have played twice or more).
Among all BL keepers with at least 50 games, Marc-Andre ter Stegen is the one with the lowest conceded goals pergame average (0.88 goals per game).
Düsseldorf striker Stefan Reisinger has scored five goals in his last six BL matches having fired only nine shots in total.
Düsseldorf coach Norbert Meier has had a history with Mönchengladbach as an active player as well as a coach, whilst Levels, van den Bergh, Rafael, Voronin and Lambertz also have spent time as players with Mönchengladbach. Even Düsseldorf's director of sports Wolf Werner is a former Mönchengladbach coach.

Eintracht Frankfurt v 1899 Hoffenheim
Hoffenheim have lost only one of the seven BL meetings with Frankfurt (W4 D2 and a 0-4 home loss earlier this season).
Hoffenheim have never gained fewer points (13) from their first 18 BL games than this season and had won 23 points at this stage last season. 41 goals conceded is also a negative record for Hoffenheim.
Hoffenheim's recent draw with Mönchengladbach ended a six-match losing streak. The team haven't won any of their last eight BL matches (L6 D2) and they have scored only two goals in their last four BL matches.
Frankfurt have kept a clean sheet twice this season (one of which was against Hoffenheim) - the lowest number of shut outs this season (together with Fürth and Bremen).
Frankfurt have scored in all of their nine home games 2012/13. They have scored 23 home goals (an average of 2.6 per game) and only Bayern München have scored more at home (26).
Hoffenheim have won fewer points on the road than any other team this season, gaining only four points in their eight away games.
No other team have scored more headers than Frankfurt (10) and no other team have conceded as many headers as Hoffenheim (13).

Frankfurt's Martin Lanig played for Hoffenheim between 2003 and 2006 in the German third division. He moved on to Fürth after Hoffenheim and narrowly missed out on promotion to Bundesliga 2. Lanig hasn't lost any of his seven BL meetings with Hoffenheim (W2 D5).

FC Augsburg v FC Schalke 04
Both teams have met in four competitive games of which Augsburg haven't won any (L3 D1).
Augsburg haven't won any of their last five home games (L3 D2). Their last home victory came in early October 2012 vs. Bremen (3-1), their only home victory in 2012/13.
Schalke have lost four consecutive away games in the BL. Their last away victory came at Dortmund in October 2012 (2-1).
Schalke haven't lost on matchday 19 for eight years (W5 D2). Their last defeat on MD 19 came on January 29 2005 at Kaiserslautern (0-2).
Schalke have suffered 49 BL away losses in the state of Bavaria and have won only one of their last seven matches in Bavaria (L4 D2) - 2-0 at Fürth on MD 3.
Schalke midfielder Lewis Holtby has directly contributed to more goals (14 in 26 competitive matches) than in his entire 2011/12 campaign (13 in 41 competitive matches).
Augsburg striker Sascha Mölders has scored six goals in eight BL appearances this season. He had scored only five BL goals in his entire 2011/12 campaign (29 appearances).
After Mölders (11 goals), Augsburg midfielder Ja-Cheol Koo is the top goal-scorer (8 goals) in the club's BL history. Seven of his eight BL goals have been scored in the first half of matches and this season, the South Korean scored all three of his goals either in 44th or 45th minute.
Schalke striker Jan-Klaas Huntelaar will return after a one-game ban vs. Hannover. He has netted in each of his three BL meetings with Augsburg (3 goals).
Jens Keller, who faces his first away game as Schalke boss, has never won an away match as a BL coach (L3 D2 with Stuttgart).

Hannover 96 v VfL Wolfsburg
There have been 21 BL meetings between Hannover and Wolfsburg of which Wolfsburg have won 12 and Hannover only six (D3). However, Hannover have won their last two BL encounters Wolfsburg and kept a clean sheet in both games.
Wolfsburg have won an average of 1.86 points per BL game vs. Hannover - a higher average than against any other side (considering only teams which they have played at least two times).
Wolfsburg's 5-0 victory at Hannover on MD 33 in the 2008/09 campaign (which resulted in the Championship for Wolfsburg) was Wolfsburg's biggest away victory in their BL history.
Hannover won 4-0 at Wolfsburg in the first half of the season, when Szabolcs Huszti assisted all four goals.
Hannover have lost three consecutive competitive games in which they conceded twelve goals. Before this run, they hadn't lost three consecutive games since February 2012 when they lost nine on the bounce.

Fürth's first BL ever victory came against Mainz in the first half of the season (MD 2). Felix Klaus netted in a 1-0 victory to become Fürth's first ever goal-scorer in the BL.
There has never been a scoreless draw in 24 competitive games between these teams. On average, 3.25 goals were netted in these games.
Fürth have won nine points in 18 BL games. In BL history, there have been eight teams on nine points or less in their first 18 matches - all of whom were relegated.
Fürth haven't won any of their last 16 BL games (L10 D6) - the longest winless run of the season.
Only in 2010/11, when they eventually finished fifth, have Mainz gained more points in their first 18 BL games (33) than their current total (27).
Fürth have never won a home game in their BL history (L6 D3). Only four other teams hadn't won any of their first nine BL home games.
Fürth have scored four goals in nine home games - only one team have scored fewer in their first nine BL home games; Hertha Berlin in 1990/91 who netted three.
As a player, Mainz coach Thomas Tuchel met with Ulm in the third division in five games. He didn't won any of these (L2 D3), amd was sent off three times.
Fürth players Zoltan Stieber (2011/12) and Milorad Pekovic (2005 - 2010) used to play for Mainz.
Mainz players Marco Caligiuri (2007 - 20010) and Nicolai Müller (2007 - 2011) played for Fürth in the German second division.

SC Freiburg v Bayer Leverkusen
Leverkusen have won seven of their last nine meetings with Freiburg (L1 D1). They have lost only one of their last 10 BL away games at Freiburg (W6 D3).
Freiburg have failed to score in their last three home games vs. Leverkusen. They have lost four consecutive home games vs. Leverkusen at an aggregate score of 1-10. They have previously lost five consecutive league games only to Bayern München (2001/02 - 2010/11).
Considering only the last seven BL match days, Leverkusen rank top of the table with 18 points. Freiburg are fourth in this form table with 14 points.

Bremen have won only two of their last 14 BL away games (L9 D3) and have conceded in each of their last 16 games on their travels.
Bremen have conceded 34 goals this season, only two teams have leaked more. They have conceded 15 goals in their last five games.
Bremen have conceded 23 goals in the second half of matches this season, a division-high and more than Hamburg have conceded this season (22).
In 2012/13, Hamburg haven't lost a game after taking the lead (W7 D3). However, they have lost every game after falling behind (L7).
Hamburg striker Artjoms Rudnevs has scored the team's last three goals and has had a hand in nine of Hamburg's last 13 goals (seven goals and two assists).

Bayern have lost only one competitive away game this season (1-3 at BATE Borisov in the Champions League). They have been the best guest team of the Bundesliga (W7 D1).
Bayern's 14 league victories this season have come with cushions of at least two goals.
