06-03-2011 17:00 Hercules - Almeria

Hercules have a curious problem: They play well against bigger teams but tend to struggle against the lesser lights of La Liga. Maybe their games are a direct reflection of the quality of their opposition or maybe they get complacent against their direct peers. Whatever the reason, they have to lift their game for this match to ensure that the highlight of this season is not just that win against Barcelona.

Almeria have now gone four league games without a win, only managing to get a draw against Racing in midweek. Their bottom of the league position is a far cry from the glory days of Unai Emery where they had become a permanent fixture in mid table, finishing as high as eighth in one season. Their main problem is their inability to get results against less illustrious teams. This match seems to offer them an ideal opportunity to rectify this record.

Team News:

Hercules: Jesus Pastor, and Javier Hernandez, Hercules’ own cantaneros have started to train with the first team and might play a part in this fixture.

Almeria: Pablo Piatti is out with a grade 1 hamstring injury. Diego Alves and Crusat have not trained with the first team and are a doubt for this fixture.
