06-03-2011 17:00 Malaga - Osasuna

This is a classic relegation dogfight. Both teams are in indifferent form, picking up points here and there and trying to survive. There is nothing really to choose between the clubs and it is just a question of who makes fewer errors.

Malaga are leaking goals left, right and centre. They also have a host of injuries which have not helped their cause. This forced coach Manuel Pellegrini into resting 8 of his first team regulars for the match against Real Madrid and the reason for not resting the other 3 was that “he did not have enough players”. Not too much should be read into the 7-0 drubbing by Real Madrid as Malaga never went into match to get anything out of it. Their players will be fit and rested for the vital clash against Osasuna and should be able to get something out of this match.

Osasuna to their credit tried their level best to win against a Deportivo side that had come only for a draw. They tried and tried, but a combination of the woodwork and Daniel Aranzubia thwarted them. They will now be facing the side with the leakiest defence in La Liga. This statistic should encourage their strikers who seem to be goal shy away from home.

Team news:

Malaga: Malaga have a host of injuries with 7 first team players either already out or who are doubtful.

Osasuna: Walter Pandiani is suffering a hamstring injury and will be out of this clash.
