06-03-2011 17:00 Levante - Espanyol

Levante can be forgiven for thinking that 2011 is their year. After picking up 13 points in a space of 4 weeks they are looking increasingly likely to defy early season predictions which had deemed them prime relegation fodder. Going to Real Sociedad and not returning empty handed is no mean task and Levante can rightly be proud of themselves. They will now be hosting a team who, despite being a European contender, are struggling heavily.

Espanyol suffered their fifth defeat in 6 matches. They are now being forced to look over their shoulders nervously as the gap between them and mid-table teams constantly decrease. A few months back they would have welcomed Levante as opportunity to score a few goals and enjoy a comfortable night out. However, the current situation is starkly different to the one a few months back when Levante were struggling. Espanyol need to turn things around quickly or else a season which promised so much will remain just that.
